Swara steals the limelight with musical extravaganza



TWO major events in the month of September were the highlights for Swara Community Arts Centre.

First was the musical extravaganza 'Swara-Natya on Friday, Sept 12 at the Shantanand Auditorium at Temple of Fine Arts in Brickfields.


More than 600 guests were treated to captivating performances by Samuel J. Dass, Neha Mondal, Bavani Logeswaran, Getha Sankaran-Lam, Prakash Kandasamy and Pangasaasanii.

Arts Exhibition "Sama-Sama Malaysia" in collaboration with the Malaysian First Initiative (MFI) on Malaysia Day held in Swara CAC

On September 16, in conjunction with Malaysia Day, Swara held an arts exhibition entitled 'Sama-sama Malaysia' in collaboration with the Malaysian First Initiative (MFI).

MFI, helmed by its founder Datuk Dr. Elamaran Sabapathy, promotes racial unity among Malaysians from all walks of life.



It is envisioned that Malaysians, regardless of race and religion, can learn the ancient art of Indian music by coming to Swara, as well as participate in the activities organized by the Malaysian First Initiative to create a united and strong Malaysia.

“The country needs leaders who can connect and unite people from all races and make everyone feel at home,” MFI founder and chairman Datuk Dr Elamaran Sabapathy said in a press statement yesterday.
